Accomodation near Palermo Airport

We will be flying out of Palermo at 8:25 am in May. We will not be staying in Palermo. Has anyone out there in cyber travel land, stayed in close proximity to the airport, preferably a B & B. Is there anything near Monreale, and if so, would it be a reasonable commute early in the morning.

Also would like a recommendation for accomodations in Ortiga, Agrigento or nearby, and Trapani. I prefer B & B or agriturismos. I have also tried a few Air bnb places. One was fantastic and the other not so great. I appreciate any suggestions.

Will you have a car (if so will you be able to return it early), what is your budget?

I should have mentioned that we will have a rental car, returning it to Palermo airport. We can return the car in the morning before our flight out, or the afternoon/evening before, depending on where we stay. I would prefer not to stay at an airport hotel, however, I don't think we should be more than 30 min away from the airport, because our flight is at 8:25 am. I usually try to stay under $100, but not opposed to going a little over if it is a special place.

Look at Le Oasi B&B, in Terrasini, west of Palermo, on the Gulf of Castellammare. We stayed there Dec. 31, 2014, for a 5am drive to the airport next morning. (Got its recommendation on a travelers' forum/tripadvisor/someplace.) The 5 km drive took no more than 15 minutes (pre-rush-hr...). It's on a side street right in town, but on-street parking was no problem. Cheery owner speaks adequate English, his 20-something daughter is fluent & gave perfect airport directions. Their brochure says that they'll organize airport transport if you want. Room was perfectly fine, with some exposed original stonework, good bed, big shower stall; breakfast the usual fresh fruit & croissants & packaged odds & ends, excellent espresso etc machine; winding narrow stairs up the 3 floors. Pizza place & mom&pop grocery store across the street. Town's on the coast, has a museum including a Sicilian cart collection.

PS We paid 80 Euros a night, for a 3rd floor queen/king bed private bath room.

It's been a few years ago, but on Ortygia we stayed at Acropoli B&B and in Trapani at Ai Lumi B&B. We would go back to either one.

Thanks all, Stewart your suggestion looks like a good option. I will look into it for availability. I am open to other suggestions from others who may have had a similar dilemma.

If you don't mind staying in Palermo, you could return your car upon arrival in Palermo, then stay the night, and get a taxi to the airport the next morning. I can't speak for all of the car rental outlets, but the Hertz one is just a few turns from the autostrada, in a newer section of town that wasn't hard to drive in. If you are interested in this option, here's my review of where I stayed in Palermo, and would gladly stay again: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/italy-reviews/palermo-bed-and-breakfast-la-bella-vita

Here's where I stayed in Ortigia (again, would gladly stay here again): https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/italy-reviews/siracusa-airbnb-in-ortigia
