I'm stunned as to how helpful this board has been regarding our September 35th Anniversary trip to Tuscany! Now that the itinerary is planned, I'm hoping to get recommendations regarding accommodations & tours/classes. We're thinking of making Montepulciano our home base for 5 nights, and taking day trips from there. We would like to stay within the town, vs. an agritourismo on the outside. I would really appreciate any recommendations for accommodations that are inside Montepulciano. We're open to any type of lodging.....Small hotel/inn, B&B, apartment, etc. As far as pricing, we would prefer to stay within the 3-star range.
Also, I would also appreciate any recommendations for tours and classes. Last June, we toured 2 wineries in Chianti. A few wineries would be great, but we don't need to tour a winery every day. We would love to tour a family business where olive oil is made, and also tour a farm where pecorino cheese is made. And take a cooking class or two. So any recommendations would be great!
