Accommodations & Tours

Hi!

I'm stunned as to how helpful this board has been regarding our September 35th Anniversary trip to Tuscany! Now that the itinerary is planned, I'm hoping to get recommendations regarding accommodations & tours/classes. We're thinking of making Montepulciano our home base for 5 nights, and taking day trips from there. We would like to stay within the town, vs. an agritourismo on the outside. I would really appreciate any recommendations for accommodations that are inside Montepulciano. We're open to any type of lodging.....Small hotel/inn, B&B, apartment, etc. As far as pricing, we would prefer to stay within the 3-star range.

Also, I would also appreciate any recommendations for tours and classes. Last June, we toured 2 wineries in Chianti. A few wineries would be great, but we don't need to tour a winery every day. We would love to tour a family business where olive oil is made, and also tour a farm where pecorino cheese is made. And take a cooking class or two. So any recommendations would be great! Thank you in advance!!! :)

Just bumping this up by saying that Rick's book recommends 5 Montepulciano lodgings at a range of prices, and each of them has something to recommend it.
