Accommodations in Vernazza and Manarola

I will be traveling to Cinque Terre in June 2009. The list of available accommodations is small and contains many places I can find little information on. We need a room for 4 and would prefer a sea view. Please provide your thoughts on the following hotels and B&Bs:

Franca Maria in Vernazza,
Carro Elisabetta in Vernazza,
Vernazza Rooms,
Manuela Moggia in Vernazza,
Ca De Capun in Manarola,
Room Sea Breeze in Manarola

Suggestions of other less know accommodations would be appreciated.

Manarola has a great, clean Hostel, Ostello 5, with family rooms with 4 bunkbeds. We stayed there and enjoyed it very much. Nice dinners and views. Worth a look.

Martina's Rooms in Vernazza was great. There are several flights of stairs to climb but the view of the harbor was spectacular. There is a website--just google Martina's Rooms Vernazza. Martina does reply to emails.

In whatever hotel you choose, walk to your room and inspect it before you agree to take it. Some rooms may be too small, some will not have a sea view. If your room doesn't meet your needs ask for another.

My wife and I always look at the room before. I inspected 5 apartments before choosing one in Vernazza when we were there.

Albergo Barbara in Vernazza is great - they have a website. Right on the harbor.

Also, in Riomaggiore, Mar Mar has great apartments for rent at very reasonable prices. If you are a group of 4, it might be better to get an apt rather than a 2 double rooms. Check out their website at www.5terre-marmar.com. They are very professional and respond to emails very quickly. They will give you photos and detailed info on their apartments. Good luck! :)

Thanks for your help. We just booked with Carro Elisabetta in Vernazza. Hopefully this will work well for us

We stayed in one of Elisabetta Carro's rooms in Sept 2007 and it was one of the most memorable accomodations of our trips to Italy. The room was tiny but clean and perfectly adequate with a comfortable mattress. It truly felt nothing like any hotel we had ever been in, which was part of its charm. The best thing was the rooftop patio with the most amazing view! It is the perfect place to have a bottle of wine and some goodies from the local shops. Be prepared for many steps, over 100. Have a wonderful trip.

La Marina Rooms is a two bedroom apartment with a stone terrace off one of the bedrooms that has a sea view. We loved it. There are a lot of stairs though if any of you have mobility issues.
