Accommodations in the Dolomites

I am planning a summer trip to the Dolomites. I notice several of the budget options for accommodations don't have air conditioning. How hot does it get in the Dolomites? Will I be comfortable without air conditioning? Are mosquitoes an issue if I keep the windows open at night?

What month and where exactly? I have spent some time in summer in Ortisei a few times, which isn't even that high up in altitude, and in July it gets down to the low 50s at night, sometimes even in the 40s. During the day it might be a comfortable mid 70s F. I didn't need the air conditioning and July is the hottest month.
