We are headed to Naples this Spring. We are looking for a B&B or small hotel in the city within walking distance to some of the sites. We have stayed in the Historical Center within walking distance, of the train station and loved it. We want to try something new but not be insulated from the city. The area along the Bay or above the Bay seems interesting.
Anyone have any experience or suggestions for places to stay? Word of mouth is priceless.
Thank you in advance.
Bed and Breakfast Orsini 46 comes HIGHLY recommended -- scoring a 4.9 on Booking.com. Located in the Santa Lucia neighborhood which is very safe, attractive and reasonably positioned to see the sites of Naples. It is located less than a half block from the Bay of Naples and the Lungomare (kind of a seaside boardwalk) where you can walk and have a beautiful view of Vesuvius. Not too far (15 minutes) walk to the Metro Municipio stop and from here you can go anywhere. As it is right off of the bay you can easily catch a ferry to Capri or Ischia for example. But what I particularly like about this location and Orsini 46 specifically is that it is quiet. Quiet can be very hard to come by in Naples as it is a joyful and boisterous city.Don't get me wrong I LOVE walking in the heart of Naples Centro storico but when I want guaranteed sleep I look elsewhere. Also, you would be very near the Chiaia neighborhood which is a calmer, upscale section of Naples so this would be an opportunity for you to perhaps see another side of Naples. The B&B has only 3 rooms and is often booked up. They do a lovely breakfast that you order off of a card the night before. They then deliver it to your room on a rolling cart at a time of your choice. Not only is the breakfast delicious it is artistically presented! Lastly, your hosts are very proud of their establishment and it shows in every detail and they provide excellent customer service helping with booking taxis and restaurants and general advice.
Seconding Orsini. It’s easily reachable with public transit, extremely comfortable and the hosts are absolutely lovely. It’s my go to when in Napoli.
Thank you for your quick and detailed reply. We will give it a try. It looks like a gem!
My best.
