Accommodation suggestions for Rome April 2027

My husband and I are planning a trip to Italy for our 39th anniversary the end of April 2027 and plan to be in Rome from the 23rd - 27th. I've had a great deal of success using Chat GPT to plan some of the preliminaries, but finding acceptable accommodations in Rome has been difficult. Our requirements aren't too exhaustive - twin beds (or true king size) with breakfast included, near the Main Train Station or close to other public transportation and with an elevator (or no higher than the first floor) because of my minor mobility issues. And, most importantly, at or under $200 per night.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Look at Xenia Guest House. Some friends of mine stayed there and reported great things including an elevator. Very good location near the historic center. Lots of trams and buses nearby.

Stay in a monatery/convent ! Last year my wife and DS&DIL stayed at Casa per Ferie ...Margherita Caiani and have previously stayed at Casa Maria Immacolatta. Both very nice. In April when A/C isn’t needed, I would select the former, primarily because of the great gelato shop across the street! Both are near Metro stops and are walkable to the Vatican. Good price. No English speakers at Margherita Caiani, but translation apps work well. A unique experience. You don’t need to be Roman Catholic ( we aren’t ) to stay there.

Book thru www.monasterystays.com.

Look in booking.com.

You can filter by breakfast included, by the train station and by elevator.

When you select a hotel, you can see the bed types.

Hotel Diocleziano clicks all your boxes:

Highly recommend The Beehive! We opt for the private room with balcony on the first floor and it usually runs about €90/night.

I actually just emailed them a couple weeks ago asking when booking will be available for April as we are also planning a trip to Rome April 28 for a few nights. They quickly replied booking is available approx 6 months in advance, if you’re interested.

Thanks everyone. We have tentatively booked a room at the Hotel Milton Roma near the Manzoni Metro Station. It's fully refundable, so we'll keep our options open. But we really like the location, the breakfast buffet and its mostly positive ratings.
