Can anyone recommend a place to stay in Monterosso? I'm looking for either a 3-person room (2 adults, 1 child) with a balcony (so the adults can sit out there while kiddo goes to sleep earlier), or an apartment. I don't like using airbnb and prefer to connect directly with the owner/operator, but I am having trouble in Monterosso. Relatedly, does anyone have experience with the Cinque Terre Riviera travel agency https://cinqueterreriviera.com/ ? I found an apartment through them, but am unsure if it's a good company to work with. Thanks!

I stayed at Hotel Albergo Degli Amici in Sept 2022. It had a good location. It also had a lovely area accessed through the top floor of the hotel for sitting out in loungers and enjoying the view.

I have stayed multiple times at a lovely agriturismo in Monterosso - www.burancocinqueterre.it . they have several cottages of various sizes that would accommodate your family. It is above the town (walkable) and really quite nice...their wine is amazing as well.

My preferred hotel in Monterosso is Hotel Villa Steno. It's located at the top of the "old town" in a wonderfully quiet location. I don't remember what type of rooms they have or which ones have balconies, but you could certainly contact them for more information.
Rather that use the "travel agency", you might have a look at the Rick Steves Italy guidebook.
