Accommodation location in Rome for single older female

I'll be staying in Rome for 2 days in mid-June before meeting a group at the airport to transfer for a conference in Tuscany. My preference is to stay at monastery/convent guest houses. I've narrowed down to a few choices. My preferred one is in Trastevere near the river. Any feedback about safety and logistics for this area would be appreciated. I've been to Rome in 2001/02 and seen major sites. I want a quiet respite from jet lag and the opportunity to visit favorites, Santa Maria in Trastevere for example, and to walk (and eat gelato). Second choices are closer to the Vatican or on the other side of the Tiber near the Pantheon.

Trasevere is a hopping area, especially in the evening. I have felt safe walking in the area, even at night.

Also check The Rabbit Hole apartment from VRBO. It's a studio in the Jewish quarter and maybe halfway between Trastevere and the Pantheon. It's easy walking but there is a tram that goes across the river (not sure exactly where though). It's near the pedestrian street of the ghetto and lots of restaurants so there were always people around. And the owner is available via WhatsApp if you questions.
