I'll be travelling in Puglia next May and would appreciate any recommendations for accommodation in Matera, Alberobello, Lecce or Bari. Thanks in advance!

We are currently in Lecce at the Hotel Della Palms- great service, rooms and buffet breakfast. In Bari we stayed at the Mecure Villa Romanazzi. We are driving and both of these hotels are outside the historic districts by about a mile. But they are comfortable and quiet.

I stayed at the Patria Palace in Lecce and the Grand Hotel Olimpo in Alberobello. Both were centrally located and an easy walk to the main sights.
The Patria Palace was a very nice hotel with a magnificent breakfast buffet.
The Grand Hotel Olimpo was a basic modern hotel but only a few minutes walk to the historic district.

Hotel Caveso in Matera was very nice - clean, quiet, good breakfast.
