Any suggestions for accommodation such as B&B or simple,clean budget hotel in central, historical area of Florence..walking distance to most sites. Like a little character or charm with accommodation if possible. We are travelling to Florence by train and can walk to the centre from there. All suggestions most appreciated. Ing55

If you don't mind climbing stairs, I highly recommend the Soggiorno Battistero right by the Duomo. Very centrally located in my opinion. My other recommendation for Florence is right around the corner from Battistero.....Residenza Giotto. They were a little more expensive, but they have an elevator and a wonderful rooftop terrace that overlooks the Duomo.

Also check out Katti House. Very clean and spacious rooms for 65 euro.
