Accessing Wireless Internet with an ITouch

I have an ITouch that I would like to bring in order to keep in touch and get on the internet while I am traveling through Italy - is there anything that I need to download for my ITouch in order for it to pick up a WiFi signal in Italy? If so, what is the application? Any help is greatly appreciated!

It will just locate the access points like it does in the states.

You could use an application like WiFinder just to list the available open access points and their signal strength if you like.
