Accessing Rocchetta Nervina Without Car.

Hello!
We are interested in visiting this lovely town but do not plan to have a car. We will be taking a train from Ventimiglia to Milan which may be bring us close, but then we will need additional transport. Are there buses, or even uber or private driver services that we could rent from the nearest train station?

Thank you!

You mean trying to visit from Ventimiglia, right? Because Ventimiglia is a 30 minute drive, and there are some local rental agencies (just use Google Maps).
For a driver, I would inquire with a local tourist agency--but you have a large group, don't you? (May need a van)

Thank you. I was wondering if there is a train station closer than Ventimiglia where we could get a bus or car transport for a group of 4. Although a 30 minute drive from Ventimiglia is shorter than I expected.

I used Google Maps and did not see anything (good tip is to use "search nearby" function to look for train stations). There could be a bus schedule, as those are typically more difficult to dig up. I had just about given up on RometoRio because it can lead you astray, but lo and behold, it does have a bus line 7 listed, see schedule here: https://www.rivieratrasporti.it/Upload/Orari/2022-2023/Tascabile_Vallate_Ventimiglia.pdf
I would still inquire and verify at the tourist office. This is the link for the bus company: https://www.rivieratrasporti.it/orario-generale
"Vallate Ventimiglia" is the time table link you want. Maybe one of the Italians from the forum will verify the schedule for you because I am rusty.

I am always interested in learning about new places and have heard these two nearby villages mentioned often. If you book a driver, you may want to incorporate them into a full day: https://beautifuliguria.com/west-riviera-medieval-villages-dolceacqua-apricale/

That's correct Valadelphia. That is the correct timetable.
Buses operate only Mon-Fri on school days, and currently (winter schedule) there is only 3 a day in each direction (6:45, 12:45, 18:00 going up and 30 min later arrive at Rocchetta and get back down to Ventimiglia in the same direction).

thanks Roberto--I like keeping up my research skills, but lack confidence in my ability to correctly deduce school day and weekend schedules. The schedule may update before your trip, synapse, but now you know where to find the link.
Score one for RometoRio--people like to hate on it, but as long as you follow the links to the providers, it can work!
