Accessibility in the Lake Region

Hi, I was looking at staying at a b&b in Onno. I read in a review that you could access plenty of sights and restaurants by boat. Is this true or would we probably need to rent a car? Should I stay closer or Varenna? Thanks!

Here is ferry information for Onno. It does not start running until March, so there might not be a schedule online right now.

Here is information for the D10 bus route on that side of the lake. We did not use this bus route, but the C10 route on the other side of the lake was reliable and the buses were very comfortable.

If memory serves, the ferries coming in to Onno only service the lower right leg of the lake. Here is a link from an old timetable. https://www.eccolecco.it/en/informations/ferry-lecco-bellagio-timetable/

It takes 45 minutes by ferry to get to Bellagio from Onno. Also note that the latest return ferry from Bellagio is just before 6pm. Onno is a bit isolated travel-wise from the rest of the lake. I do not recommend a car going into Bellagio. It can be a driving and parking nightmare.
