I managed to make reservations for the Accademia and Uffizi for the wrong day. (8:30 a.m. and Noon, respectively, on Sunday, October 13. We don't get to Florence until that afternoon.) As I kick myself, I wonder: Has anyone had any luck either canceling reservations (understanding the Terms say no cancellations or refunds) or transferring them to someone else? If you aren't getting a discount do they check ID when you get the tickets or do you just need the e-mail voucher? Thanks.
One of things I have noticed in the cultural difference of traveling in Europe and the US is the concept of Customer Service. In the US we expect and often demand a high level of customer service or to put it another way, customer convenience. "The customer is always right." That is not so prevalent in Europe. In Europe no cancellations, no refunds, means NO. And not the starting point for negotiations as is common in the US. Which is a long ways around saying I think you are stuck. We have encountered a couple of similar situations and NO really meant NO.
Yep - sounds like I just made a "donation" to the two museums. Worthy cause, I suppose! If anyone wants to try to use the tickets, PM me.
