hello,
i am trying to booj the Accademia hotel in Verona and the best rate I can get is 340 euro and is too steep for me. I waited too long to book a room and many are booked due to opera. Any suggestions? The other place was Hotel Bologna and Giuletta e Romeo but these places didnt get such great reviews. Help!
Stephanie
We stayed here three years ago and liked it. Some of the rooms have cooking facilities so useful for breakfasts/light meals etc. Being near the Arena may mean they are booked up.
The Verona house was booked. I am am trying to find a website that offers the accademia at a cheaper rate and i cant find it. any advice?
Stephanie, are you attending the opera or just visiting Verona? My understanding is that hotels are expensive and hard to come by in Verona during the summer opera season. If you aren't attending the opera, you might look at staying in Vicenza or Padua and visiting Verona as a day trip.
That being said, I have stayed at Hotel Torcolo in Verona.
I was planning on doing a 1/2 day wine tour of Valpolicella and then attend the opera at night. taking the train fron Venice and will not have car. Thats why i thought of staying in town. i just found two hotels....giuletta sogno di giuletta and hotel giuletta e romeo. Any thoughts?
Stephanie, if you are going to the opera then you should definitely stay in Verona.
Have you checked the reviews on tripadvisor? I'd go for the one with the best location.
Yes, i have checked Venere and most of the places are 2 star and not located in town. I am thinking of the Hotel Giulietta. Any thoughts?
We stayed at the Albergo Arena which was fine. There was nothing fancy about it by any means, and it was not very sound proofed. But it was within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the Arena, the staff was great (tho not all spoke English), they had a nice breakfast, and there is an Internet Train portal right there in the lobby. Castelvecchio is just behind it, too, and there is a bank just a bit down the street. They are small, so they may be filled up.
