Accademia Florence

Hello! How much time should I plan for a visit to the Accademia? Unfortunately, it's going to be on a Sunday.
Thanks!

make sure you have a reservation or Firenze Card to avoid the line
you can spend an hour there or more if you like to really linger, not nearly as long as you for the Uffizi

An hour tops if you REALLY linger or want to see whatever special exhibit they might have. You can also pretty much walk right in an hour before closing or right at opening. Otherwise, have your hotel reserve a time slot for you.

Was just there May 2 and 1 hour is about right. If you don't get a reservation ahead of time, just go to ticket place right across the street and ask for the next reservation available. I went around 10:40am and had no problem getting a reservation at 11am on the same day. I don't know why people wait in line. It cost 4 euros more than the ticket price but IMHO worth the cost.

Steve, Nice to see a fellow St Louisan here. You can purchase a reserved ticket at the office across the street--- I noticed that last week I'm pretty sure that's a fairly recent development. Since you'll be so close to San Marco you may want to stop by there as well to see the Fra Angelico works too. I've never seen a line there.
