Accademia and Uffizi Tickets

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!!!!! I bought 4 tickets online from the museums offcial website for each of the museums. I mistakenly bought them for the wrong day which was one day after the one I wanted. I sent an e:mail and never got a response. I then called them and was referred to the same e:mail address. I sent another e:mail and still haven't heard about being able to change the date on the tickets. A week has passed since I sent the most recent e:mail.

I have read their website that states no changes. However, I know I'm not the first person to do this. I mentioned in the e:mail their website shows availability for the day I am in Florence since I mentioned I will not be in Florence on the day I ordered the tickets for.

Has anyone experienced what I have and if so, what happened? Do they not respond? Is it too much of a gamble to show up and take a chance that they will let us in by honoring the purchase of tickets for a different day?

Looking forward to any ideas. And yes, there is the option of eating the existing tickets, buying 4 new ones and write it off to just screwing up.

Your question: Is it too much of a gamble to show up and take a chance that they will let us in [on the wrong day] by honoring the purchase of tickets for a different day? [at 4 different museums]No matter what anyone here says, you won't know until you stand in line and get right up to the ticket taker, at each of the 4 museums. This could waste a large amount of your precious vacation time and lead to frustration. IMO (I've never tried what you're thinking of doing) the probabilities don't seem to be in your favor, not for 4 museums and especially the Uffizi. If what you propose ends up being your Plan A, you probably want to have a Plan B. Myself, I'd go with Larry's advice. And if that's the worst mistake you make in planning European travel, you're way ahead of me!Keep travelin'!

The official website says "Once payment has been made, it is no longer possible to change or cancel a reservation". It's sad that you made the error but the rule on the website is quite clear. I don't understand why you continue to try and contact them. It is unlikely that they will honor a ticket for a different day.

At this time, I would suggest buying tickets for the correct day and attempting to sell the ones you have a day or two before when you get there. However, I didn't see any selling outside these musuems so it may not be legal. I just don't know. If not possible, you may have to chalk it up to an error.

You are probably out of luck regarding the Uffizi in that they only let a certain # of people in at a time and have a pretty great process. However, we were in Florence in August and I had bout ticket for the Accademia for a 4:00 entrance time. We went up there to find a place to eat around 2:00 and there was no one there, so I asked the ticket taker if we could get in early and he said no problem. I was really suprised how uncrowed Florence was. It must be the economies.
