Accademia and the Uffizi

Do I need to get the Firenze Card first before I get the museum reservations? Can someone please send me the URLs to make these reservations? Thank you in advance

Before you buy the Firenze Card, make sure you do the math to see if the discounts you get will pay for the prize of the card. "Usually" you have to go to a few attractions/museums to get your money's worth.

Check RS advice below. It also tells you where to get the tickets.

UPDATE: Thanks Kathy for the RS update.

Bryan: I was not that thrill by the Accademia museum as opposed to the Uffizi but I went because that was where the David was. I later found out that there is a replica (I can't tell the difference) in front of the Piazza della Signoria.

Unfortunately, this info in the RS article linked above is no longer correct:

This three-day sightseeing pass gives you admission to many of
Florence's sights, including the Uffizi Gallery and Accademia. It lets
you skip the ticket-buying lines without making reservations (except
for the Duomo dome climb).

Timed-entry reservations for the Uffizi and Accademia, along with the Duomo dome, are now mandatory if using the Firenzecard. The FAQ page for the pass answers a lot of questions:

http://firenzecard.it/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=20&Itemid=119&lang=en

Scroll down to "Do I need to make reservations for the museums with Firenzecard?" and "Do I need to make reservations for the Uffizi and Accademia Gallery with Firenzecard?" for instructions. Yes, as far as I understand it, you can call and make your reservations for both of these museums - but NOT the duomo dome - before you arrive in Florence: you do not need to have purchased the pass yet but WILL need to show it when you arrive at your scheduled time.

Some useful, more current info about the pass (May 2019) which may help you make the decision to purchase it or not:

You need to do the math to see if it makes sense. We are planning on seeing a few more museums than just the Accademia and Uffizi and the price difference was relatively small. On Friday, I decided not purchase the Firenze card and booked my times directly from the website for the Accademia and Uffizi. The process was simple and easy.

I have purchased online a Firenza Card which I will activate once I get to Florence. I would like to make the Uffizi and Accademia free 4 euro timed reservation as well, but I don’t see how to do it. Can someone please provide instructions? I see I can call, but I am in the U.S.A. and don’t have a way to call internationally.

Thank you!

Bryan, what is preventing you from making an international call? Is it your phone service or an uncertainty of how to do it?

Bryan, you dial 011-39-055-294883 from the United States, from 8.30 to 18.30 from Monday to Friday or from 8.30 to 12.30 on Saturday, Italy time. You shouldn't have any problem doing this with your phone.

Thank you...here is a naive question...does calling Italy from the U.S. incur a charge?

It depends on your particular service provider/contract.

You're welcome. Oh, and just make reservations for your kids at the same time you make them on the phone for the grownups: one stone, two birds!

Side note: was just in your part of the Twin Cities on Saturday for our spring ramble down Summit and general area. A few brews at Sweeneys and The Happy Gnome, and dinner at La Grolla. Yum. :O)

Don't highlight the good things about MN too much...we like to keep them a secret!
