The hotel is very new, actually the entire area is recently built (it used to be a rail yard). Therefore I would imagine the premises are very nice and functional. It depends on what you intend by good location. If you intend safe, anywhere in Florence is very safe. By US standards, Florence has zero violent crime and also very limited property crime. In addition to that, the Municipal Police Headquarters is practically across the street from the hotel, at the corner with the Piazzale della Porta al Prato. If you intend quiet, I think it is. The street where the hotel is has no traffic, although the boulevard passing through Piazza della Porta al Prato, about 200 yds from the hotel, is one of the busiest boulevards in Florence. If you intend easy walking distance from the tourist sights, that is not. It's a business traveler hotel but not conveniently located for tourists. It's quite a walk to practically all of the tourist sights (about 25-30 minutes walk to most of them). See if you can rent bikes or you'll spend a lot in taxi fares. Of course there are plenty of buses going through the Piazza della Porta al Prato, as well as the Light Rail. All of them will lead you to the Central train station and also beyond. Taxis are also plentiful. There is also a commuter train station next to the hotel, but I doubt you'll need it. It takes commuters to the suburbs.

We stay at the Hilton Metropole across the Arno river and in the Hilton Molino Stucky across the Giudecca Canal for the same reason. Points. In Florence, the Hilton has a shuttle departing every 30 minutes. Same in Venice with their private water boat. Perhaps the Marriott may have something similar. Slightly inconvenient but it gets you there and back from your free hotel. You might contact them by email and see what they have.
