Abbeys in Tuscany

Can anyone offer advice on visiting the Abbey of Sant'Antimo or the Abbey Monte Olivieto Maggiore? Thinking of visiting one of these abbeys to see another part of Italian life. Thanks!

You can't go wrong with either one. I personally favor Sant'Antimo, the morning light is spectacular, but Monte Oliveto is great also. You might also consider San Galgano . You can have lunch on the terrace at Monte Oliveto. I had an excellent lunch at Castelnovo dell'Abate less than 2K from San't Antimo.

they are both in stunning countryside; I have a slight preference for Monte Oliveto Maggiore as for the picturesque trip there and back. We have been to services at each. Both good.
