We are planning to visit the Abbey next week. Does anyone know if it is necessary to purchase tickets in advance or if we can purchase them on arrival? We are a group of 4 adults. Thanks for your help.
We have just visited the grounds without a ticket. It was very beautiful to see.
We just showed up. I don't know how busy it is in June, we were there in December.
If you can schedule it, try to attend Vespers in the evening. We visited the Abbey, then had dinner nearby and returned for Vespers, which is celebrated in Gregorian chant. The only other visitor there that evening lived in a local village. The monks insisted that we sit with them and even gave us materials that would be used in the service. We were encouraged to join in the responses. It was a moving service and one of the highlights of our trip.
