My husband and I are doing RS' Rome in 7 days tour, and staying in Italy for an additional week starting Saturday March 30 (in Rome) We'd love a few "off the beaten path" or other suggestions. We do want to spend two days "on the beaten path" in Florence for art museums, which we should do later in the week or at the end of the week, due to Monday closure of museums. We like walks and hikes with a high ratio of scenery to steps (we are in our mid 70s). We also like finding wonderful local food and wine; and we would also appreciate any tips for older travelers.
