When I started to plan my trip over a year ago I looked here first. There are so many helpful folks on this forum. With their suggestions and tips I was able to enjoy a incredible two months. Thank you Rick Steves for the website and thank YOU all the contributors who make it work. Here is how to plan a vacation.

Jim, it was also fun to follow along with you as you posted from your travels. You asked great questions from which even a seasoned traveler could learn something. Where's your next trip?

Well, what you have on this forum is a real dialogue, pros & cons of almost any subject, especially passionate ideas on what to do in an allotted time! Chill out, experiencing La Dolce Vita, or you can't miss this museum or hidden gem. Almost no one is snarky about acceptance of other peoples' ideas. As it should be.

The real value here, in my opinion, is from a logistical standpoint. Folks in their initial post will say, well, I want to do Venice, C.T., Florence, Rome, Naples, and the A.C....in ten days. And almost to a man (or woman), we will say hold your horses. Prioritize. And many on this board have taken multiple trips to Italy, and know firsthand the travel pitfalls of getting from Point A to Point B, and whether it's feasible or not. There's always another way of doing it, fortunately, with the best part being you're in Italy, which is to be savored, either fast or slow.
