A short report!

Just wanted to thank everyone for all of the help in the past with my trip. I returned on Friday night from 3 weeks in Italy, SOLO! I am a senior and I tell you it was the best trip that I have ever taken to Italy, baring the trip home with airlines! I spend 5 nights in Rome, and found that it was wonderful to just do what I wanted when I wanted, and people seemed to be more open to chat with you.I then went to Orvieto for 1 night, and people were very ready to help put the luggage on the train, bus. I walked A LOT, and sometimes wasn't where I thought that I was, but that was great also, since you would see things that you weren't expecting. And, you can only get but so lost as the towns are quite small (Orvieto, Assisi, and actually Florence). Always had a map in hand, and there always seemed to be someone around who could help get you on the right path. But wondering around was wonderful! Then to Assisi, I love this city, quite hilly but just walk at your own pace, and you get to see more! Went into lower Assisi to see the Basilica, it was an awesume suprise to see the original chapel that St. Francis repaired, in the center of the Basilica! Then onto Florence for 7 nights, and that was very relaxing. Did the Castle Verrazzano wine tour, wonderful helpful people, beautiful sights, I would highly recommend at the cost of 48 eu for 4 course lunch with wine pairings and the tour of the castle and wine cellars. Also did the Taste Florence tour, which is a walking tour for about3-4 hours. It was very nice, saw some food places that I didn't know about (3rd trip there), it was a little more pricy at 80 eu but you did taste quite a bit of food and wine. (continue)

Sounds like a wonderful trip. Maybe the airlines can get there act together the next time you go!
