We have a 6:30 am flight from the Malpensa Airport, near Milan. We would like to stay in moderate accommodations near the airport which will supply a shuttle early in the morning. We also will need to take the train or bus from Milan to the airport and hopefully get a shuttle to the accommodation the day before. Any suggestions? Has anyone tried or heard of the Malpensa House which is a guest house?

Hi Joanne... we solved the same question, we think, by booking a room at the Cardano Hotel (www.cardanohotel.com)... They are very close, not expensive, and offer 2-way shuttle to the airport. They are rated highly on TripAdvisor, which is where we located them.

Tripadvisor is the best resource for recent reviews from people who have stayed at the properties. My post and the subsequent contributions will get you to the hotel websites. I've periodically updated to this year's rates, but you'll want to check the hotel websites to be sure.
Be aware the Hotel Cervo, which was perfectly adequate for my family, gets regularly trashed by others here.
Oh, and if others have other hotels to suggest, please feel free to add to my post. I think that's appropriate for a post of this nature even though it was originally begun over a year ago. Kent and I continue to refer people to it and, as I mentioned, I do some periodic editing to maintain it. Until there's such a feature as a "sticky" here, this is what can serve to respond to a frequently asked question.
