Hello, I am looking for a reasonably priced & clean (the cleanliness is very important to me) place to stay in Rome, Italy in October. We would love a roof top terrace or balcony. I have been looking and I am just bit overwhelmed at this point.
800 to 1300 euros a night? I'm guessing you mean for a longer period, but we don't know what it is. Remember, we can't read your mind here, so spell it all out for us and you'll get better results.
Okay Michael, so you can tell I'm new at this kind of conversation..... We will be in Rome for 7 nights.
I just did a dummy date query for one night in October at Hotel Parlemento, since it's specifically mentioned. Rates on Booking.com range from €126 (Single) to €240 (Quad). So this must certainly be for multiple nights.
How many adults, how many children, please Laura. I know it seems repetitive, but we can't help without all the data. The figure you give is for the whole stay, is it? There are places that go for that per night. What areas would you like to be in?
What does "reasonably priced" mean to you, in Euros, please? I've never been to a hotel in Rome that I would not call clean. What area of Rome do you want to stay in? Which places have you ruled out - or which are you debating?
I am not sure what "reasonably priced" means to you, but I look for "value" meaning I a balance between price and what you get for the $$. Sometimes it's worth it to spend a little extra. In Rome, we stayed at Albergo del Senato, literally overlooking the Pantheon, in 2010. It had an incredible roof top. It was reasonable at the time and worth every single cent! I use Steve's Help Lind and Tripadvisor to select all our hotels and have never had a bum trip. Good luck! I have no idea what it costs now that it's a top pick on TripAdvisor. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187791-d191099-Reviews-Albergo_del_Senato-Rome_Lazio.html
We do need a better of idea of what reasonable and clean means to you. Balconies and terraces adds to the cost. And the area of Rome makes a big difference.
I recently stayed at the Hotel Diana in the Termini area. It has a roof garden, is reasonable and certainly clean (aren't all hotels clean nowadays?) so it could be worth looking into.
I guess I am thinking anywhere from €800,00 to €1300,00 would be reasonable. I did find Hotel Parlemento which seems nice.
We stayed at the Hotel Farnese http://www.hotelfarnese.com/. Very nice, clean, great staff. We were there in 2003. Our room had a balcony. It was our firsat trip to Italy, so we splurged a little. I think we paid about 180 euros/night.
We are staying at Hotel Colosseum which has a rooftop terrace. We are paying 174. euros/night for a double and my mother who is coming with us is paying 144 euros/night for a single. We will be staying there in Sept.
Thank you all, we did book a room at the Hotel Parlamento.
