A quant small town in Italy

We will be traveling to Italy for a few days in August 2020. We are heading from Milan and our destination in the chinque terre. We have a couple days in between these places. We are looking to find somewhere off the beaten track to spend a couple days before heading to the chinque terre. Does anyone know of any wineries or agritourism places close by? Thanks

The wine country of the Piedmont is about a 2 hour drive from Milan and is fantastic. I spent some time at the Agriturismo Tre Stelle just outside Barbaresco. Only four rooms, great hosts, wonderful views from the balconies of the hills and surrounding vineyards. It is also a winery. Easy day trips to Barbaresco, Barolo, Asti and Alba. Great restaurants in the area.

From there, it’s about a 2 hour drive to the Cinque Terre.

Treasuredspirits, how will you be traveling? If you are not traveling with a rental car, an agriturismo might be difficult to access/sightsee from. Still, a car won't be of any use at all to you in the Cinque Terre. How are you thinking of getting around between Milan and the CT?

Asti, Nieve, and Alba are reachable by train, bus. Then you can arrange a driver to take you to a winery.
