A night in Rome - last night in Europe

Hello everyone! Me and my husband are going to be spending 28 days in Europe this September, and will be spending our final night in Rome before catching a flight the next morning. We've been to Rome twice before - once for a few nights and then once like we have to do this time, just one night before we had to leave. The first time we stayed by the Vatican and didn't really like the location. The second time we stayed here: http://www.hotelraffaello.it. I can hardly remember the area. Anyways, this time we'd like to stay more in the historical part of Rome, perhaps near the Via del Corso. We'll be arriving sometime in the afternoon, perhaps around 3pm. We don't need to do any sightseeing (except seeing the Colosseum and Pantheon at night), just dump our bags and stroll around and be in Rome. Somewhere lively and beautiful, lots of restaurants, where we can just enjoy the last night of our trip. We realize it'll be a bit more expensive to stay in that type of area, which is fine, but we don't want to go overboard! Maybe around 110-140EUR if possible. B&Bs, boutique hotels or regular hotels. Thanks in advance.

Hi, my last visit to Rome, we stayed at the Hotel Cosmopolitan. The downstairs bar was very popular with locals for mid morning cafe. Great location, a couple of blocks to the Forum, walk to the Colosseum and lots of local restaurants within 10 minutes walk. We had a very nice room. Typically small for Europe but clean, fluffy robes, an antique armoire for clothes. Breakfast included.
