We'll be spending 1 day and 1 night in Genoa next month, after 4 nights in Cinque Terre, prior to departing from Genoa's airport. Never been. Any tips about must-sees? We have an overview walking tour scheduled with a guide, and we'll certainly seek her counsel, too, but what does the helpline say? Grazie.

Thanks, Kent! Appreciate it, as always. While I begin to sort through the 94 threads in search of tips on how to prioritize Genoa sites in a day--and I will do so, although many of those posts seem focused on specific transportation questions--I would still welcome any extemporaneous feedback on must-see Genoa sites, too.

I'm guessing these will also be on your guide's list.As you know, Rick doesn't cover Genoa in his books; if you haven't already done so, you may want to get a book that does, although since you're using a guide you may not need a whole book. I hope the above list will be a start.
