a driver named Salvatore

Does anyone know anything about this guy? My husband read that he is the guide to get to drive you down the Amalfi coast. Know what company he drives for and how much it costs?

We actually returned from Italy last night! I just responded to a private message on this same subject so will post the same info here. We tried a new driver in Sorrento this time and I recommend him very highly! Ugo Vinaccia of Sorrento Cars/Leonardo Travels - what a nice, knowledgable, and professional man! He grew up just outside of Sorrento and so he knows the whole area very well. He drove for another company for 8 years and has had his own company for 2. He is well eduacated, very sincere, and has a great sense of humor. Ugo is fluent in English but enjoyed asking for clarification on certain slang expressions and unfamiliar words. He is obviously very proud of his homeland. We arranged 3 services with him: transfer from Naples airport to Sorrento, Amalfi Coast tour (full day) and transfer to Rome. He requests a small deposit via paypal to secure your reservation and you pay him the balance in cash after services are rendered. We were traveling with my parents and they could not physically handle all of the train transfers so this was our best option. Acutally, split by 4 people, it was very reasonable and not that much more $ than other options. The Amalfi Coast bus is "okay" but having a driver is sooo nice and gives you as much or little time in each town as you like, historical and regional commentary, someone to answer all your questions, and a much more personal experience. I will warn you, they drive crazy in Italy and it helps to feel confident about who is behind the wheel! Ugo's contact info is:
www.leonardotravels.com or www.sorrentocars.com
email: info@sorrentocars.com

If you have any other questions send me a PM. Have a wonderful trip!

Salvatore, is the cousin of George from Athens.

OK,OK...I joke....George is a very popular Taxi driver/guide in Athens, Greece...much press and web recommendations, but George is actually a whole fleet of Georges (though many will to this day swear they had the one and only George)...when I saw Salvatore, that is the first thing that came to mind.

But for wasting your time, it appears his name is Salvatore Lucibello and he operates http://www.driveamalfi.com/ He also has drivers that work for him, so it may not be too far off from "George"

I found the info on the Frommer's board, a google search also turns up info, I did {Driver Amalfi Coast Salvatore}

Salvatore is a pretty common name in Italy. We used Salvatore of DriveAmalfi.com for a days drive along the Amalfi Coast. He worked with us to plan the time we had and where we wanted to stop. He also stopped along the way for good photo apps and gave us a ton of info as we drove along. We had a group of 6 and had a great day with him.
