Where do I catch a bus from the Rome airport to take me to the Termini?
Hey linda,
Here is some info https://www.italiarail.com/leonardo-express-roma-termini
Read it through, but below is some important information.
After claiming your luggage, follow the signs for the train like the one you see on the left. It’s about a five-minute walk from the baggage carousels to the train. There are restrooms and snack stands along the way if you need to stop. Before you enter the train track area, you will see large green ticket kiosks where, if you have purchased a ticket in advance (highly recommended), you can enter your PNR number and claim your ticket. Once you have your tickets in hand, head to the track area where the trains stop. There are only a couple of tracks, which makes it less-confusing. Monitors, plus frequent loudspeaker announcements, notify you of which track and what time the next train will be leaving for Roma Termini.
Before boarding the train, it is important to remember to get your
tickets stamped for validation from the smaller ticket machines you
will find at the entrance to the train. There is usually a staff
member standing by to do it for you, or there are more machines near
the tracks where you can do it yourself. These machines are much
smaller than the ticket kiosks and easy to miss, so be on the lookout
for them.
linda,
This website should provide the information you're looking for - http://www.adr.it/web/aeroporti-di-roma-en-/pax-fco-bus .
As the previous reply mentioned, the Leonardo Express train is the quickest and easiest option, as it's not affected by traffic. It makes the trip from the airport to Roma Termini in 32 minutes. If you decide to use that instead of the bus, you can buy tickets at the airport rail station, but it's important that you validate the tickets (time & date stamp) prior to boarding the train. If you fail to validate, you'll be subject to hefty fines which will be collected on the spot. Validating tickets also applies to buses, metro and other transit.
oops, sorry Linda,
I "could have sworn" your post was about taking the train from the airport. cleans reading glasses That's what I get for getting in a reply before rushing out, lol.
Are you arriving at Terminal 3? If so, then walk to your right after exiting the secured area, staying inside. Near the train station entrance, there will be boothes on the right side selling bus tickets. There are a couple of companies that run buses to Termini for about the same price, so look at the departure time signs and buy tickets for the next departure. Once you buy your tickets, walk outside and go to the right. The walk is fairly short and it will be obvious when you've reached the departure point for the buses. If arriving at Terminal 1, then walk over to Terminal 3 (5-10 minutes), go inside and buy your bus tickets. My recollection is that the bus ride takes close to an hour, but it's a good deal if you're not in a rush and I find the scenery along the way more interesting than from the train.
Linda, we've done the bus as Frank explained it: bought our tickets at a kiosk just outside baggage claim. As he said, there are a number of different companies and the buses are like touring coaches: comfortable and air-conditioned. Your luggage goes underneath unless small enough to take up with you. In our case, the ticket-seller directed us where to go for the next bus.
Brief descriptions of and links to the different bus operations are here:

It was easy and we didn't mind it taking a bit longer than the train.
Thank you all so much, that was very helpful.
