I was looking online for maps of central Palermo and came across this one showing a free shuttle bus that appears to do a continuous loop of the historic area of the city.
I wonder if anyone can confirm if this bus is still in operation?
The map was dated four years ago.

It appears it is still there. AMAT is the Palermo City Transportation Agency.
