Does anyone know if taxis are readily available at the train station in Lecce?
It would be mid afternoon on a Monday, if that makes any difference at all.
Having arrived at various other stations in the smaller Italian towns, I know this is not always the case.
I’ve scoped out the bus route to our accommodation, but if it’s a very hot day when we arrive, I’d much rather be driven there.
I’m presuming there would be a kiosk in or nearby, to buy tickets if we had to take a bus.
And, if anyone knows a phone number for calling for taxis in Lecce, that would also be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
I am pretty sure there will be taxi cabs at the station of a provincial capital city, like Lecce, but, just in case, the radiotaxi company is below.

The tel number is:

Thank you both….that’s great information.
Every picture I can find on google, google maps and street view has 2 or 3 taxis right in front of train station as you walk out. If there aren't any there is usually a taxi sign with the number on it. And now also probably listed the local preferred Taxi App which is actually great if you're not confident with your Italian over the phone. I've had good luck with appTaxi but that's mostly been in northern Italy.
Have a great trip,

We took a taxi from the taxi rank at the Lecce train station to our apartment just outside the Oldtown last year in February.
I was there in May and had no problem taking a taxi that was waiting outside the train station. I stayed at B&B Dimora San Giuseppe and just walked back to the train station when I was leaving.
Thanks everyone.
Just a couple of years ago we arrived in Lucca but there was not a taxi to be seen for about a further 30 minutes.
Looking back, it could have been lunch time! ;)
