Hi travelers! A friend has given us air reservations arriving in Paris and departing Milan 10 days later. What shall we do in between? Thinking about a couple days in Switzerland then maybe 4 or 5 days near Lake Como with a car to do day trips and explore, then on to finish a couple days in Milan. Is that a good plan? Our previous trip to Italy was Rome to Florence to Venice - so this is all new territory for us! Thanks for any suggestions ~
Tami
An open jaw like that would be good if you had more than just 10 days. Visiting Paris alone will take a bunch of those days. Paris, Lyon, Geneva, Val d'Aosta (Alps), Milan are more or less along your itinerary (if you drive). By train you would bypass Geneva and go from Lyon to Modane to Turin instead. To visit Paris quickly, rent a bicycle. You can zip through from place to place very quickly and Paris is mostly flat (except for Pigalle/Montmartre).
Hi Tami, What a wonderful gift. What time of year will you be going? We are also visiting Lake Como (Bellagio) for 5 days in June. I have always wanted to visit there and finally get to go. There is a ton of information here but if you would like any suggestions, feel free to PM me. Ciao!
By train you would bypass Geneva and go to Turin instead????? Not if you don't want to. You can easily go by train from Paris to Basel to wherever in Switzerland and then to Milan. No problem. But if you have ten days, and want to spend a few in Switzerland, 4 or 5 in the Lake area, and a couple in Milan, aren't you skipping Paris?
