My husband and I will be traveling from Rome to Sorrento
in July. Rick recommends taking the bus. Has anyone done this before? Do you buy tickets when you get to Rome?

The direct bus leaves from Rome Tiburtina Station; you can find more info. at http://www.marozzivt.it . You can buy tickets at the Station/bus stop.
