What area to rent an apartment or condo for a 9 night stay in Rome in November (20 - 29)?
We need access to public transit, would like a safe area where we could relax in evening and maybe a terrace. We will be sightseeing, but also hanging out in our neighborhood.
Help, please!
At that time of year day time highs will likely be hi 50s and 40s at night. The daylight hours will be short as well. A 'terrace' may be of limited use.
Not had the luxury to spend 9 consecutive nights in Rome, so cannot help with apartment ideas. Just stayed in a hotel near Termini, which was a good transportation hub for us. Metro nearby for local travel and easy access to FCO

We stayed in a B&B Boutique Griffone, in the Monti area -- separate air-conditioned bedroom with en suite bath, shared access to the kitchen. No terrace, though.
Amazing location, walk a block and boom! it's the Colosseum! Hostess provided bread, butter, eggs, juice, coffee for each morning, cook it yourself. Many, many restaurants (and gelato shops) nearby, or pick up stuff to make dinner. Short walk to Metro or ruins.
Thanks for the suggestions. We really like the idea of an apartment since we would like to do some meals in and maybe have washer.
Trastevere is a wonderful area and will check that site.
The Monti area is quite intriguing since our last name is Monti. Will definitely check that out as well.
