I am solo travelling to Italy, mid March for 9 days.
I like history and food. I would like to check out some historic sites, eat some good food and spend a few days relaxing perhaps at a Beach or at a scenic spot.
It will be good to be able to meet some other people but I usually do that by joining a walking tour or a pub crawl or something like that.
Given that the weather maybe cool, I am thinking of doing this.
Day 1-4 Rome
Day 5-8 Sorrento and do day trips to nearby towns in Amalfi on the bus.
Day 9 back to Rome. Perhaps do Napoli on the way back?
Will the time in Sorrento be too much? I have been reading that a lot of places may not be open and the towns will be empty. How bad will it be?
Alternatively I could do this but I feel like I will miss the warmer weather in the south.
Day 1 Arrive in Rome, head to Venice
Day 2-3 Venice
Day 4-5 Florence (will this be too much of architecture and buildings?)
Day 6-9 Rome
