My husband and I will be travelling to Italy in September for 9 days then on to Paris for 7. We have a hotel arranged for 3 nights Rome, 3 nights Florence, and 2 nights Venice. So I have one extra day to add-I am thinking Florence or should I try to stay one night en route from Rome to Florence-Tuscany somewhere? Any thoughts? We were planning on trains from Rome-Florence-Venice. We are planning on flying a cheapo airline from Vencie to Paris-Easyjet or Ryanair-or any others? Thanks!!!

You can add a day to whichever place you are more interested in. Since you rely on trains I wouldn't add another location, just add a night to one of the locations you are trying. From VCE you can fly to: ORY - Easylet, Transavia France CDG. - AirFrance, Easyjet, XL Airways France Ryanair does not fly to either Venice or Paris airports.
You can fly Ryanair From TSF to BVA. TSF is Treviso, BVA is Beauvais. Both are over 1 hr away from Venice and Paris respectively.
thanks!
Since Venice was my favortie of the 3 you listed, I would totally spend an extra day there. I would spend a week there if I could. For such a small and compact city, there is plenty to do. We filled our 3 night stay right up and wished we had spent less time in Rome. Team Venice,
Kelly
If your first night in Rome is the day you arrive from the US, then I would add a night to Rome so you can have 3 full days.
