train travel in Italy

Can I comfortably get from Capri (ferry to Naples) to Lucca (I guess via Florence ) in one day by train? It will be a Friday or will I need to stay over in Flrence and continue on the next day.
Also can I get from Lucca to Siena by train or will I need to hire a car?
Is it easy to get from Lucca to cique terra by train. None of this is that clear on the Trenitalia website.
Should I book tickets ahead in Australia?

For complete timetables, go to www.bahn.de. Click on "Internat. Guests" at the top of the homepage to view the site in English. All of your routes are shown on the site. Click on "Show details for all" to see the connections required. Since I don't know when your ferry will dock in Napoli, I can't say if you will arrive in time to catch a train to Lucca.

I forgot to answer your booking question. There is no need to book tickets before you get to Italy. If you wish, you can book them all at the station in Napoli. Or for more flexibility, you can wait and book each trip separately, ideally the day before you plan to travel.
