I would really appreciate some feedback on our draft itinerary for Tuscany and Lake Como planned for September. We’re an active couple just turned 60 who enjoy the outdoors, history, other cultures and traditions and of course food.
We’ ll be flying in to Florence from London in the third week of September. We plan to get a rental car at the airport and then drive to Siena for 5 nights. We would also consider splitting this into 3 nights Siena and two nights somewhere else. We have stayed in Florence before so will not be visiting on this trip.
We would then drop the car back in Florence after 5 nights before taking a train to Milan. Then on to Varenna where we’ ll stay for 3 nights. From Varenna we’ ll travel by train to Nice via Milan.
Does this seem like a logical plan to see parts of Tuscany and Lake Como given our next destination is Nice? We are completely open to suggestions as nothing is yet booked. Thank you in anticipation
