What is the best way to spend 8 hours off the boat here? Does anyone recommend a guide for that length of time. Rick had Alfio on his audio tour. I think he lives in Catania. Is there anyone who would take 4 ladies on a private tour?

Erice is a medieval city high above Trapani, you can get there by bus or funivia. Beautiful views from the town, lots of places to eat, castle and gardens for sightseeing.

Don't get back on that ship without trying gelato in a brioche. Our favorite place for them was a gelato shop called Chocolate, near the end of the main street in the old town, near the big cathedrals.
