8 day itinerary MXP Venice Lake Como Milan - need help train or car Trip 1 happening

Hi need advise (traveling with friend) we both been to Europe several times and I have driven on the autobahn 7 times and Autostrada 3 times. Wedding in Lake Como on 8/6 we are attending.

My tentative itinerary: Do I drive or take train - I can rent a car for $350 for the whole period.

Sat 8/1 overnight flight JFK to MXP
8/2 MXP 9am - drive MXP to Venice or take train. Overnight Venice
8/3 Venice ( St Mark Doge Palace)
8/4 Drive to Lake Como (Bellagio region) or take train
8/5 Lake Como
8/6 Wedding Lake Como
8/7 Drive to Milan or take train (Last Supper)
8/8 Milan (Duomo)
8/9 MXP flight 2pm -return rent a car or take train

one large check on bag and I have a carry one - The real question will a car be optimal or not -

We did a trip similar to this last spring but also included Florence. We did all our transportation by train and it was smooth and easy, At Lake Como we got off the train in Varenna, walked down the hill to the ferry, took that over to Bellagio and walked to our accommodations. We did get a private driver to take us back to Milan for 1 night before we left. Hopefully you have your Last Supper tickets as some in our group had to pay a large amount to get tickets from a third party. Enjoy!

Your entire journey is easily done by train.
Driving that distance after an overnight flight not advised.
You can't use the car in Venice at all- will be parked. Same thing in Milan.

8/7 Drive to Milan or take train (Last Supper)

Do you already have Last Supper tickets?

I see this post as well- are you taking 2 trips or which plan is the actual one?

I have tickets to Last Supper. Both trips are booked and getting done. Need help on both please- If car is $100 more or less than train would car be better as I can store luggage in there and take more scenery in?

As I said above this trip (and the other) are easily and best done by train
You don’t need a car (can’t drive in Venice or Milan for the most part)-parking, tolls and gas will cost you more than you think and storing luggage in a parked car is risky.
