Rick says in his most recent Rome book that "those with reservations can enter the museum as early as 8:00, before the ticket-buying crowd." We're planning to visit in September, when hours should be extended, but I can't see any option to purchase ticket reservations online at that time. Are there private companies with guaranteed entrance times earlier than 8:30? Has anyone been able to enter the museums at 8 a.m.? Thanks for your help! We have reservations for a scavi tour at 1:00, so we're really hoping for an early entrance.

Last year they had early entry times but I've not seen any this year. Private companies will charge hundreds of euros to get you inside before the rest of the crowds. I would just purchase entry tickets for as early in the day as you can get them. Donna
