I have 3 1/2 hours to get from the airport in Milan to the cruise ship port in Genoa, Italy. What is the best way to insure making it on time? We arrive at 1:30 p.m. in Milan and must board the ship by 5:00 p.m. Does anybody have any good suggestions? Thank you. Darlene

Fly. Try to book an airline other than Alitalia. I have flown with them 4 times in the last 3 months and every time they have been delayed at least an hour and a half. From memory there is one called "One" I think it's associated with Lufthanser and I have found that much more reliable.

Check to see if your cruise company has an airport transfer you can purchase, that way they know you are coming and on which flight and won't leave without you if your flight is late. My parents did this on a criuse to Mexico once and were glad they did because the flight WAS late but they didn't have to worry becuase they knew the bus from the cruise line was going to meet them at the airport.
