Any recommendations for restaurants and day trips? Pompeii for sure, but I wonder, is Capri too much to do in a day. I love food, so any restaurant tips warmly received.

Capri is not too much to do in a day. Depending on whether you want to say "I went to Capri", want to see the towns, or want to see or swim in the Blue Grotto, should determine how long it will take. See Rick's book for some guidelines.
We were in the first category. We looked around the town some, fought the crowds and came back.

Yes on Capri it is perfect for a day. Walk all over the island so start early, last ferry ends in evening to return to to naples or sorrento.
