72 hour Roma Pass - was it worth it?

Hi Travellers,

I am considering purchasing a Roma Pass for a certain segment of my trip to Rome, as I have purchased timed tickets for most other attractions. But, I am unsure of the value.

On a Saturday and Sunday, I am going to Ostia Antica, Museo Nazionale Romano, then on Sunday we will go to Appia Antica and continue seeing other Museo Nazionale museums not completed on the Saturday.

The tickets for Ostia Antica and Museo Nazionale Romano are only around 12 Euros, and the ATAC website shows each trip costs 1.5 Euros.

For these sights it seems like a huge waste of money, as one 72 hour Roma pass costs 38.5 Euros.

The other incentive is discounts for other museums after the two free are used up but I cannot find any information about the discounted prices!

Did you find it was worth it?

If you see the Colosseum and Borghese Gallery plus one other discounted (normally 50%) site and ride the busses, trams and metro a few times it's about break even and allows skip the line entrance. For info on discounts, follow this link.

The above link has info on the full and discounted prices (after using up your free admissions) under FAQ question 3.4. I bought the 48 hr pass for 28 euros, and got significant discounts on my second and third entrance fees.

Thank you so much for the link to find the list of discount rates, I was searching and searching! I have already purchased a timed ticket to the colosseum as well as a borgese gallery ticket, so pretty much the only option for using the Roma pass would be for the scenario I mentioned!

Thanks again, I will note these discounted prices and re calculate!
