Changing planes in Amsterdam

This fall we are flyng into Amsterdam and only have a short layover of 1.5 hours, before heading on to Venice. Does this allow enough time to go through customs and make our next flight? Just a little nervous, since we have not done this before. Any advice would be appreciated.

It is OK if your plane is on time. There is no customs only immigrations. The line for immigrations can be long. In December, there was an official controlling a far left lines for those with a short connections. Same for security so take advantage of these lines. Also it would help if your plane seats were near a door. We miss our connections last December when our plane was about 20 mins late getting to the gate and we were buried in the far back side of the plane so it took another 20 mins or so for us to get off the plane. Only had an hour and missed it. An hour and a half would have been OK.

Perhaps, if you don't have a seat near the front of the plane, you can explain to the flight attendant, if there are empty seats nearer the front, maybe you can move - even if it's only just before landing. If there's a long line in the airport, try asking the people in front of you. Usually they understand the problems with short connections and are willing to let you go ahead of them.

Just went through there a couple of weeks ago. Much better than Paris. We had about the same time for the layover and no probs. Maybe we just hit it right but only a couple of mins. wait at immigration. You should be fine. Have fun!
