Does anyone know of a good website to find out locations and phone numbers of Hostels in Italy? I will be traveling alone in Florence and Rome. I want to stay for cheap but also feel safe.

i think it was "soggiornopitti"...right across the pittii palace..it was cool, near the internet, 2 blocks from the cafe RS has as cool restaurants..it is "across the river", which in old days was considered the "wrong side of the tracks", until the rich -in-power" bought land there..it rocked.

I just stayed at Alessandro Place, they have 2 of them , both around Termini.
I felt safe, in a kind of China Town. A lot of people around even at late nite.
they have their own website, just google it.
The hostel was very clean, with big lockers, even if they told me they were small. Also the bathrooms were clean, with soap provided.I paid about EUR 26
