We have 6-7 nights allotted for this area & would like to stay somewhere central with good transportation (trains &/or buses) so we can visit a few of the “best” towns, villages.
We can stay in Florence but since we’ve been already, we thought perhaps another base.
We’ll be traveling during Palm Sunday-Easter which I now realize could complicate matters.
I was thinking of Siena or maybe another smaller town. Simply looking for the beauty of Tuscany & interesting places of interest.
We’re open to suggestions & thanks in advance.
Six to seven days for Tuscany is barely enough time to enjoy one small area.
Siena and the Chianti region is where we usually stay-Castellina, Panzano, Radda.
You also mention the Cinque Terre. Is the six days for both? Not a good idea. Give the CT two full days and Tuscany at least a week in one part of this very large province.
Thanks much. It’s never enough time but all the time we have right now. We hope to visit next year for a much longer look.
Rural Tuscany you really need a car.
Yes, driving makes getting around much easier but not this time. That’s why I thought a central base, bus, train or maybe even a guided day trip to other towns. I will do more research. Thanks.
