We have 6 full days in Italy, Rome is the one city we are staying in. What is the second city you are picking to say in South Italy? Is it Risky to pick a 3rd city? If Not which city is that?

There is so much to see in Rome that you could easily fill the six days. If you want to add a second city, south, you don’t have a lot of time to go far. Naples is the closest going south but it isn’t for everyone (we loved it). A logical second city beyond Rome would be Florence. I wouldn’t try for a third place with only 6 days.

6 days? That's not much at all. I'd stick with Rome, hire a private guide, look at the RS week long tour for ideas. Traveling anywhere else will take at least 1/2 day. If you must choose another place - Florence is my favorite. I would NOT do a third town.

I would just stay in Rome. You could do a day trip to Orvieto or Ostia Antica.
